ROBERT SLUTZKY (1929-2010)
A.B.A / Red, 1961-1974 Acrylique sur toile. H_205 cm L_178 cm Provenance: acquis directement auprès de l'artiste par le père de l'actuel propriétaire Exposition: Montclair Art Museum, Montclair, New Jersey, du 16 octobre au 27 novembre 1977, reproduit au catalogue Robert Slutzky (1929-2005) "Pure plastic paintings is intrinsically structured dialogue between drawing and color. Each informs the owner in a manner that results in a permanetly fixed physical construct that, by its intentional ambiguity, remainsperceptually elusive. This manner, then, consciously excludes extrinsic sources, traditionnally referred to as ''subject matter'', representational imagery. The energy sources for this painting are no longer fossilized fuels, instead they are te atomsof its own existence. They are logical extensionsof the two-dimensional plane and the spherical world of color. Its expression includes horizontal and vertical; point, line ans plane." Robert Slutzky
