Complete series in composite edition, divided into two parts, each composed of 2 volumes. Volumes 1 and 2: Anecdotal memoirs on the inside of the Palace and on some events of the Empire... to serve the history of Napoleon. 2nd edition. Volumes 3 and 4: Anecdotal memories on the inside of Napoleon's palace, on Marie-Louise's palace and on some events in the Empire. 3rd edition. The volumes are decorated with 3 engraved portraits - Josephine, Marie-Louise and Napoleon - and 12 plates, 9 of which are lithographed: commemorative medal of the King of England, cradle of the King of Rome (2 plates) and signatures of famous figures. Bausset (1770-1835), "was, after the Revolution, prefect of the Tuileries Palace and chamberlain of Napoleon. [His Memoirs contain] many anecdotes, including the famous scene of Josephine's fainting at the announcement of the divorce" (Tulard). Copy that belonged to Empress Marie-Louise, Duchess of Parma.
