Clouzot, 21: Original edition of one of the "most sought-after among Balzac's great novels" (Clouzot). The title pages are decorated with a wood showing Christ carrying his cross. As a result of an unwavering friendship between two men, each of whom ended up revealing and telling the story of his life, Balzac made the Country Doctor one of his most beautiful rural and economic frescoes.
