FEYDEAU, Ernest.
Catherine d'Overmeire. Study. Paris, E. Dentu, 1860. 2 volumes in 1 volume in- 12 (172 x 110 mm) of 4 ff.n.ch., 156 pp. for volume I; pp. 157-] 288 for Volume II; morocco, Jansenist red signed'R. Small', gilded motto "Vis superba forme" at the corner, back with nerves, gilded edges (binding of the time). Vicar, III, 698; Clouzot, 120. A precious volume enriched with an autograph letter to Apollonie Sabatier, known as "The President", Baudelaire's muse: "Dear and beautiful President, I am depositing a book at your feet. May he entertain you. This is the dearest wish of the one who has the honour of being your sincere admirer, E. Feydeau". Since the binding of the volume did not bear a tommy, if we know the care that Madame Sabatier, with the help of Baudelaire, took in her library, we cannot doubt that only this first volume[out of 2] was offered to her by Feydeau. Heavy freckles.
