FLAUBERT, Gustave.
Mrs. Bovary. Provincial customs. [In: Revue de Paris, 1857]. Revue de Paris, 1856-1858. 12 volumes in-8 (235 x 149 mm); half green sorrow, back with nerves (binding of the time). See CLouzot, 131. Pre-original edition. It was in the Revue de Paris (volumes 39 and 40) that Madame Bovary first appeared, the text divided into 5 parts. Series extending from volume 30 to volume 41 and last (1856 - 1858). Indeed, in the last volume, we find attached the decree abolishing the publication of the Revue de Paris in 1858. The magazine also contains texts by Maxime du Camp (The Black Eunuch, The Modern Greeks, The Sowing, The Lumberjacks), Hugo (Poems, excerpts from the Contemplations), Guttinguer, Pelletan, etc. Very nice copy.
