SIGNAC, Paul.
From Eugene Delacroix to Neo-Impressionism. Paris, Éditions de la Revue blanche, 1899. In-8, cherry Bradel style half marble, gilded boxed back with nerves, gilded head, preserved cover (original binding). Original edition for which no large paper has been printed. Founding text of the colorists, reference of the pioneers of modern art, from Matisse to Kandinsky. A copy enriched with an autograph letter from Paul Signac to Claude Monet, a testimony of friendship and his joy at being able to admire "the great decorations at the Tuileries" in the near future. These are the Water Lilies of the Orangery. Very beautiful copy in a strictly period binding, a rare and sought-after condition. The cover and text here are remarkably fresh compared to the rare copies encountered, this book having been printed on a low quality paper.
