Pierre Reverdy's (1889-1960) magnificent and poignant ultimate poem, considered by the poet himself as his poetic testament, Moving Sand draws up the "balance sheet of a lifetime" devoted to the verb. This poem was published, after Picasso agreed to create the illustration, in memory of his old friend who had died.
He made these ten superb aquatints, which are among the most surprising of his great graphic series of 1963-1965 based on the theme of the "painter and his model"
