Spindle in platinum and 14K (585) yellow gold with the effigy of Queen Victoria, the body in sculpted quartz, the bustier set with rubies, emeralds and diamonds, applied with the letter V, the collar and crown set with diamonds. Work from the end of the 19th century. H_6 cm Gross weight: 44 g. Signed A quartz, ruby, emerald and diamond brooch, by Tiffany & Co. Probably executed by Paulding Farnham for the 1894 exhibition of miniature portraits by Tiffany & Co. The chalcedony was probably sculpted in the Parisian workshop of Jean Menu, who worked for the Boucheron house, among others. Bibliography: - John Loring, Tiffany Jewels, Harry N.
