A very rare polychrome porcelain figure Kloster-Veilsdorf, Germany, 1766. This figurine represents a very elegantly dressed Jewish gentleman, next to which there is a small bottle which can contain perfume. This model is very rare and of highest porcelain quality. H_9 cm (3 ³⁵/₆₄ in) Provenance : collection Ehmann Bâle The porcelain manufactory of Kloster-Veilsdorf was one of the oldest porcelain manufactories in Germany and the second oldest in the province of Thüringen. It was founded by Prince Eugen von Sachsen-Hildburghausen in 1760. It was famous for its very delicate figurines made with fine details and colours.
