Le Voeu. Alès, on behalf of the bibliophiles alésiens, December 1, 1945. Booklet in-16 : black half calf à la Bradel, boards decorated with a mosaic in four shades of glossy paper, untrimmed, gilt head (Pierre-Lucien Martin). Original edition of 12 copies (nº II, on strong laid paper with watermark "La Main"). Very short poem dedicated to Rachel Baes, two stanzas from the collection published the following year, Poésie ininterrompue. The signed autograph manuscript of the poem, including an additional stanza, has been bound in at the head of the book: Like a lonely woman Who draws to speak In the desert And to see before her (signed autograph manuscript, 1 p. in-8.) This second, expanded version of the poem was printed in the catalogue of the first exhibition of the Belgian surrealist painter Rachel Baes (1912-1983), organized by Eluard at the Galerie de Berri. They had met in 1945 in Paris. Very nice decorated binding by Pierre-Lucien Martin.
