One of the 20 first copies on Johannot pur chiffon; one of the 10 hors commerce, nº XV printed especially for Paul Eluard. The illustration includes 21 compositions by Fernand Léger reproduced in black (1 repetition), 13 of which are full-page. Autograph letter signed on the false title: to Paul Eluard who is the dawn of goodness, to Paul Eluard killer of remorse, his friend Guillevic 6 Oct. 48 The autograph manuscript of the poem Le Premier Jour (1 page in-4) has been bound in at the head, together with an autograph letter addressed to "Dear great Paul" asking for permission to dedicate the poem to him. Also bound in is a beautiful long letter from Guillevic to Paul Eluard addressed from the hospital where the poet has just undergone surgery (3 pages large in-8 in pencil, undated). "I am amazed by your poems Lingères légères in Poésie 45. They do me a lot of good. They have a strong, great, vast presence, a pulp as big as the world [...]. They introduce one to the land of freedom." Then he tells her about his operation, the agony of his room-mate, and the hallucination he experienced: "Under the effect of the ether, my poetry, which I felt with unbearable intensity, threw itself upon me and killed me." Finally, there is a bound-in blurb at the head. A perfect copy.
