Oval bronze plaque with brown patina representing Timeter and Turnus (or according to other references Achilles and Troilus). Hanging hole. Rome, after an antique cameo, end of 15th/beginning of 16th century Ancient casting Height : 3,8 cm - Width : 5,2 cm Works consulted : J.Pope-Henessy, Bronze from the Samuel H. Kress collection, Phaidon, 1965, n° 260 ; G. Bekker, Europaïsche Plaketten und Medaillen vom 15.bis zum 18. Jahrhundert, Grass Museum Leipzig, 1998, n° 26, p.25. This small plate is not common, the National Gallery of Art in Washington has two examples, one of which is very worn and comes from the Kress collection (inv. 1957.14.164). Another one is in the Grass Museum in Leipzig (inv.1917.355). The small accident in the upper right border is visible on all known copies.
