Good general condition from the story of the invasion of Nadir Shah (the Persian king, the Iranian Napoleon who took Delhi and plundered India, March 20, 1739). In 1738, the terrible and bloodthirsty Persian ruler Nadir Shah (founder of the Afcharid dynasty) thus entered a weakened kingdom with little loyalty to the Mughal Empire, quickly seizing Lahore. He arrived in Karnat, about 100 km north of Delhi, and captured Mohamed Shad in a battle depicted in this carpet. The trained Persian camels scared off the less agile and slower royal elephants. On March 20, 1739, Nadir Shah entered Delhi victorious with his distinguished prisoner and ordered the massacre of its 30,000 inhabitants. Triple borders, the main one beige in Deco recalling the central field of the war scene. H_221 cm L_148 cm
