Paris, printing house of Rignoux for Bauddoin frères, 1828. 2 volumes in-8 (27 x 144 mm) of 2 ff.n.ch., III, 439 pp. 35 lithographed and coloured plates (31 with the letter, 4 before the letter) for volume I ; 2 ff.n.ch., 438 pp. 9 lithographed and coloured plates for volume II. Long-grained purple half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed and decorated, all green covers preserved (G. Mercier Sr. de son père 1923). Vicaire, I, 402-403; Clouzot, 51 (erroneously lists Devéria as the artist of the plates). Very fine edition, decorated with vignettes by Devéria and 40 lithographed and coloured plates by Henri Monnier "full of spirit (7 of them are mostly missing)" (Clouzot). Published in 10 issues, each of the covers has been neatly bound into the volumes. Exceptionally enriched copy with 4 additional plates before the letter, inserted in the first volume, illustrating the following poems: Les petits coups (p.172); Ma Vocation (p. 216); Mon Habit (p. 260); L'Orage (p. 428).
