London, found in most capitals of Europe, 1789. 7 volumes in-8 (199 x 125 mm) with engraved title and frontispiece, CLXLII (=CXCII), 256 pp., 1 engraved plate for volume I; engraved title, 351 pp., 2 engraved plates for volume II; engraved title, 404 pp., 2 engraved plates for volume III; engraved title, 422, 3 pp, 3 engraved plates for volume IV; engraved title, 452 pp. 3 engraved plates for volume V; engraved title, 419, 6 pp. for volume VI; engraved title, 413 pp. 1 engraved plate for volume VII. Red morocco, gilt border, smooth spine decorated with decorative irons, gilt edges (period binding). Cohen-de Rici, 281 (note). Beautiful edition, decorated with the same engravings (except for the portrait which is not included in this edition) as those used for the third edition of 1777. The illustration consists of 7 engraved titles, an allegorical frontispiece, and 12 plates by Né and others. A fine copy, well preserved in a decorative red morocco binding of the period.
