Set of four watercolor and gouache drawings depicting ancient frescoes "discovered in Pompeii and Herculaneum": - A genius holding a mask of Pompeii found in the house of the tragic poet. Signed lower left BENJ. SCHLICK. PINX, titled and signed on the back. H_16 cm W_11 cm (at sight) Total: H_28,7 cm W_22,8 cm (small tear at top right) (the velvet pass decorated with simulated gilded brass cords) - (Villa of the Papyrus, Herculaneum) Cupid holding a kantharos. Signed lower left BENJ. SCHLICK. PINX, titled, signed and numbered 1148 on the back. H_16 cm W_11 cm (to sight) Totality: H_28,7 cm W_22,8 cm (the velvet pass decorated with simulated cords in gilded brass) - A hunting of a lion two centaurs Paper decorated with the doubled and reversed figure BS surmounted by a count crown (probably the figure of Benj. Schlick made "count" by Charles X), titled and signed on the back. H_12,1 cm W_28,6 cm (at sight) Totality: H_22,5 cm W_39,6 cm (the velvet pass decorated with simulated cords in gilded brass bearing the letter "M" centered) - A hunting of a lion and two centaurs. Paper decorated with the doubled and inverted BS figure surmounted by a count crown (presumably the figure of Benj. Schlick made "count" by Charles X), titled and signed on the back. H_12,1 cm W_28,6 cm (at sight) Total : H_22,5 cm W_39,6 cm (the velvet pass decorated with simulated gilded brass cords bearing the letter "L" centered at the bottom). The set of matching frames in gilt brass with the inscription molded in the upper part "POMPEII" for three of them, the fourth "HERCULANEUM". Simulated pass windows painted under glass. The back of three lacquered frames with a cartouche marked "CHEVR SCHLICK PATENTEE" (Patented Knight Schlick) for three of them, the fourth entoilé, all with a "day" to be backlit.
