Together three works in one volume in-4, half red morocco with corners, spine ribbed and decorated, not trimmed, gilt head, illustrated cover and spine kept (E. and A. Maylander). Complete collection of poems in Dauphinois patois by the Grenoble grocer François Blanc, known as La Goutte (1662 - 1742), "a cheerful and resigned martyr in the midst of the excruciating pains of a of a continuous gout, [who] kept, like Scarron, the salt of the Gallic spirit; but, more chaste and more sensitive than the author of the Roman comique, he sang especially the disasters of his country" (George Sand, preface). The original edition is from 1733. The collection contains Grenoblo Malhérou, la Coupi de la lettra écrita per Blanc dit la Goutta to one of sou-z-alis about the flood arrived to Garnoblo the day before S. Thomas 20 December 1740, complement of the preceding text, and Jacquety de le Comare. This last piece is unknown to Carteret and Vicaire; its pagination is continuous with that of the preceding piece. The illustration, in first edition, includes three title-frontispieces, one for each piece and more than 150 vignettes in the text, all engraved on wood by Dardelet after Diodore Rahoult. A very fine and rare copy on large paper, large in-4, enriched with an original pencil drawing original drawing in pencil, mounted in window on passe-partout, for the frontispiece of the Coupi de la lettra and of five covers of delivery.
