ARAGON, Louis.
Traité du style. Paris, Éditions de la Nouvelle Revue F rançaise, 1928. In-4 [214 x 165] of 236 pp, (2) ff. the last one blank : brown velvet with Bradel-style fishnets, boards covered with a piece of yellow box shaped with cold imprints drawing irregular compartments shiny and slightly raised, smooth spine bearing the name of the author and the title in yellow letters, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved, case (Leroux, 1995). First edition. The prose poem, doubled as a pamphlet, was only published by the NRF after having obtained the imprimatur of a rather recalcitrant Gide. Aragon attacks the great authors of the House, "conchie l'armée française" and throws himself into the aesthetic and political debates that agitated the end of the 1920s. ONE OF THE 109 FIRST COPIES REPRINTED IN THE FORMAT IN-4 TELLIERE ON LAFUMA-NAVARRE VENEER, THIS ONE SPECIALLY PRINTED FOR RENÉ BARILLON. A very nice copy bound by Georges Leroux (1922-1999): it is complete with the funny warning printed in the form of a butterfly (reproduced at the head of this catalog).
