In-8 [203 x 139] of 610 pp, (1) f. : red morocco, boards decorated with a decoration of parallel oblique gilt fillets between patterns of morocco ribbons and black straight and curved fillets, the whole forming a kind of stylized lyre, smooth spine decorated with two series of horizontal parallel gilt fillets and a wavy pattern composed of a piece of black morocco and a black curved net, black jansenist morocco lining, black moiré silk endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, red morocco spine and cover bands folder, case (Semet et Plumelle). First edition. ONE OF THE FIRST 29 COPIES ON VELLUM PUR FIL DES PAPETERIES NAVARRE (N° 16). Autograph letter signed on the false title: to Louis Broder, // for the red suit of Pierre // Mercadier - // very cordially // Aragon Impeccable publisher from the post-war period until 1971, Louis Broder produced "livres de peintre" (painter's books) in which original engravings by Arp, Ernst, Miro or Zao Wou-Ki were associated with poems by Crevel, Artaud, Eluard or Char. He had a gallery in the rue de l'Université; bibliophile himself, he is the sponsor of the binding. A superb copy in morocco lined and decorated by Semet et Plumelle.
