Founder of the Galerie Pierre in Paris, Pierre Loeb (1897-1964) was a close friend of Antonin Artaud, who notably executed numerous portraits of him and his daughter Florence. The provenance is all the more interesting since it was Pierre Loeb himself who submitted the idea of this book to Antonin
Artaud; he provided part of the funds necessary for its publication.
