The mailing marks the beginning of the relationship between the filmmaker and Jean Cocteau, both being at the beginning of their film careers. The work was completed on June 13, 1929, one week after the screening of Un chien andalou, Buñuel's first film as a director, written in collaboration with Salvador Dali. Cocteau refers to it in his dedication: the short film was not without influence in the writing of Blood of a Poet made in 1930.
Spine faded, some slight scratches on the boards.
