In-8 [221 x 160] of 29 pp, (1) f., 10 plates : stapled, black filled cover, including on the first cover a white label with the title printed in black. First edition illustrated with 10 reproductions of the artist's paintings in black out of the text. Edition of 615 copies: one of 600 on white vellum (nº 22). Important autograph letter signed on the false title: Reviens vite // nous chanter // la chanson // de la mère // Cognac, // et de Condamine // de La Tour, // Benjamin Péret, // son ami // René Crevel The letter brings together two of the leading figures of the surrealist movement. In his dedication Crevel alludes to two poems that Benjamin Péret published in 1936 in the collection Je ne mange pas de ce pain-là, entitled: La mort de la mère Cognacq and La mort héroïque du lieutenant Condamine de la T our.
