Sansot & Cie, 1906. 2 volumes in-18 [155 x 93] of 34 pp., (1) f. ; 62 pp., (1) f. : green half-calf with corners, spine with nerfs decorated in the grotesque style, gilt head, not trimmed, cover and spine kept (Huser). First editions of these two plays by Alfred Jarry, each printed at 600 copies. One of 400 copies on tinted laid paper. Signed autographs : To F.-A. Jarry At the bottom of page 9 of Par la taille, Jarry added a verse: "Mon espoir s'effeuille et s'efrite..." Frédéric-Auguste Cazals (1865-1941), a friend of Paul Verlaine, was also related to Alfred Jarry, whose portrait he painted in 1897, reproduced in Le Moutardier du pape in 1907. The second sending refers to his collection of poems and songs entitled Le Jardin des ronces published in 1902, for which Jarry composed a "privilege of Ubu roi". Beautiful copies in uniform bindings by Huser. Minimal rubbing and spotting. Edges of covers sunned.
