The inaugural lecture marks the entrance of the famous anthropologist at the Collège de France, in the brand new chair of social anthropology. Autograph letter signed on the title: To René Leibowitz, // this Ariadne's thread which, I // fear, does not lead to // the exit of another laby- // rinthe, in all friendship // Claude Lévi-Strauss Composer, one of the leaders of twelve-tone music in France, René Leibowitz (1913-1972) was also a conductor. He was a close friend of Claude Lévi-Strauss. He dedicated his Toccata for piano to him in 1964. A very well preserved copy.
