MARINETTI, Filippo Tommaso.
Manifesti del futurismo. Milano, Instituto editoriale italiano, [1919]. 4 volumes in-32 [92 x 61] of (2) ff, pp. 9-234 pp, (1) f.; (2) ff, pp. 9-227 pp; (2) ff, pp. 9-207, (2) ff; (2) ff, pp. 9-235: paperback, embossed covers, in red box with 4 inner compartments and case by Leroux. Rare collection of the four volumes gathering the texts dedicated to futurism, from Marinetti's manifesto published for the first time in 1909 to the Manifesto del partito futurista italiano published in 1918. They form volumes 168, 169, 170 and 192 of the collection "Raccolta di breviari intellettual" published from 1916 to 1920, characterized by small format volumes with embossed covers. Most of the texts in the four volumes are by Marinetti, but there are also contributions by the main figures of the movement, such as Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carrà, Gino Severini and Luigi Russolo. The third volume contains L'Antitradizione futurista by Guillaume Apollinaire and two texts in French: Manifeste futuriste contre Montmartre by Aimé Félix Delmarle and Contre l'art anglais. Manifeste futuriste by Marinetti and Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson. Copies well preserved despite small tears to the covers and a few loose leaves. They are kept in a compartmented box, made by Leroux, like a portable library.
