Antoine BLANC de SAINT-BONNET (1815 – 1880)
French Restoration. New edition. Tournai, Vve Castermann, 1872. In-8 of XVIII, 483 (the text starts on page [5] without missing), (1) pp. bound in contemporary half-bottle green leather, spine ribbed and decorated with cold filets, edges speckled. Second edition, published 21 years after the first (1851). Reacting to the Revolution of 1848, Saint-Bonnet approaches here the economic and social questions with a relevance that will be recognized by his opponents on the political level, condemning together socialism and liberalism and advocating a social renovation based on the real nature of the man. Stamp partly erased and ex dono in pencil dated 1932 on the false title. Ex-libris Pierre Sedille.
