In-12 of (2) ff, 282 pp, (1) f., burgundy morocco, multiple framing of cold filets on the boards, spine with nerfs decorated in the same way, not trimmed, gilded edges on witnesses, green glazed cover and spine preserved, case (Semet et Plumelle). First edition of one of Barbey's masterpieces. It was not printed on large papers. A very nice copy, in a binding identical to that of Les Diaboliques (n° 49). Enclosed: - Le chevalier Des Touches. [Paris, Le Nain Jaune, 1863] In-8 elongated, green cloth bradel boards, title in silver letters on the first cover. Pre-original edition, published in serial form in Le Nain Jaune from July 18 to September 2, 1863. Meeting made up of newspaper clippings giving the complete text. Perfectly established set. - DUPONT (Etienne). The true Chevalier Des Touches. Hunters and huntresses of the King (1792 - 1804). Paris, Perrin, 1924. In-12 of a frontispiece, six plates h.t., (2) ff., XXV, 26 pp., red half-chagrin with corners, gilt head, cover and spine kept.
