In-8 of XXIII, 396 pp. with VIII pp. of engraved music, red half-sheepskin, with corners, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets and palettes, yellow edges (period binding). First edition, printed at 1200 copies. Well complete with the eight-page booklet of engraved music: La Jeune captive The collective edition revealed the writer to France and contributed to the cult of a haloed Chénier, André Chénier was guillotined two days before the fall of Robespierre, on July 25, 1794 (In French in the text, BN, 1990, n° 181) Marginal staining of three leaves and usual staining.
