First edition. Copy enriched with a signed autograph on a pastedown sheet : " To Edouard Bertin / his old friend / Victor H. " Edouard Bertin, neo-classical landscape painter, was the brother of Emile Bertin who directed Le Journal des débats. Their house Les Roches, in the valley of the Bièvre Les Roches, in the valley of the Bièvre, welcomed Victor Hugo several times from the summer of 1828.
