Tomás Saraceno (né en 1973)
Foam 87B9p, 2019 Carbon fiber, plant node Edition: TS/S 19157/41 H_70 cm W_67 cm D_56 cm Courtesy of the artist, and Andersen's Contemporary (Copenhagen), Neugerriemschneider, Berlin; Pinksummer Contemporary Art (Genoa), Ruth Benzacar (Buenos Aires) and Tanya Bonakdar Gallery (New York/Los Angeles) Artist and architect, follower of a feasible utopia, Tomas Saraceno conceives projects of inflatable, modular, mobile works/architectures, in which - or with which - man can experience unusual sensations. His concepts are above all experimental. They trigger, in the imagination of each one, utopian visions of structures of transport, housing or other activities. The objects he proposes are the first level of realization of these visions, but they should be developed within structures that are far more affluent than artistic institutions. This may happen one day, as he has just been invited to the European Space Agency to discuss the possibilities of interaction between artists and the International Space Station.
