In 1981, he met the rock band The Clash and accompanied them on their tours of New York, Paris and London, where he painted behind the scenes during the group's concerts. By the early 1980s, Futura 2000 was gaining recognition and exhibited at the Fun Gallery alongside Patti Astor, Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Richard Hambleton, Kenny Scharf and Andy Warhol. His first solo show was held at the same gallery in 1982. In France, the artist was first represented by Yvon Lambert in 1982, then by Agnès B., and is now represented by Madga Danysz.
