Corners dulled, wear with small leather chips on edges and spines, some wetness, small tears. First edition, illustrated with an allegorical frontispiece with the portrait of Louis XV engraved by Lempereur after a drawing by Boucher, 41 plates including 14 double-page maps and plans and 27 views of battles, one of which on a double page, a title vignette, 6 headbands and 5 tailpieces engraved by L. Lempereur and Pasquier after C. Eisen, A. Benoît and L. Boquet. Famous work to the glory of Louis XV, recounting his military exploits and the battles he won "both in Flanders and on the Rhine, in Germany & in Italy, from 1744, until the peace concluded in 1748".
