MEISSEN (in the style) Porcelain covered oval snuffbox with revolving polychrome decoration of Chinese in the Horöldt style. The base is decorated with oval medallions featuring Chinese figures in purple monochrome surrounded by gold foliage. The inside of the lid features a portrait of Tsarina Elisabeth I, who ruled Russia from 1741 to 1761. Chased mounting in 750 thousandths yellow gold, without hallmark. 19th century.
