Théophile FRAGONARD (Paris 1806-1876) Allegory of the Passion Graphite on paper H_10 cm W_27 cm On the back, headed certificate from the Milon-Ferret framing house in Bordeaux, dated September 10, 1930: "This pencil was sold to me by the descendants of the Fragonards. This pencil is part of the work of Théophile Fragonard". Provenance: - Remained in the artist's descendants until his great-grandson Jacques, who settled in Gironde in the 1920s. - Acquired, most likely from the latter, by M.Milon-Ferret, framer in Bordeaux. - Acquired from the latter by the current owner's grandfather Expert : Pierre-Antoine MARTENET
