Théophile FRAGONARD (1806-1876) Study for three children simulating a wedding Oil on paper H_24 cm W_18.5 cm On the back, a certificate on the letterhead of the Milon-Ferret framing house in Bordeaux, dated September 10, 1930: "This painting on cardboard paper was sold to me by the Fragonard descendants. It is part of the work of Théophile Fragonard". Provenance : - Remained in the artist's descendants until his great-grandson Jacques, who settled in Gironde in the 1920s. - Acquired, most likely from the latter, by M.Milon-Ferret, framer in Bordeaux. - Acquired from the latter by the current owner's grandfather Expert : Pierre-Antoine MARTENET
