Letter written shortly before his victory at Leucate against the Spaniards, which earned him his title of Marshal; He has received news, confirmed by a courier from the king, that the enemies are entering the Province. "(...) Since the opportunity has arisen to serve the King and acquire honor, I believe you will willingly come to take part in both (...)." He asks her to come to him with his crews and friends whom he can promptly bring along. "Je vous diray point d'autres raisons pour vous y convier que l'importance du service que vous rendrez au Roy et le témoignaige que vous pourront lui donner de votre fidélitté en cette occasion (...). J'oseray croire que pour l'amour de moy seullement, vous seriez bien aize de me faire la faveur de m'assister (...)."
