Cette paire de fauteuils fait partie d'un ensemble de
quatorze commandée par Lars Olsson Smith (1836-
1913) pour la Bolinder House de Stockholm. Jean
Bolinder (1813-1899), important homme d'affaire,
ingénieur et industriel, fit appel à l'architecte de
l'Académie Royale de Suède Helgo Zettervall (1831-
1907). Construite dans un style néo Renaissance
entre 1874 et 1877, elle est par la suite meublée en
partie par Carl Petter Svensson (1831-1911) qui réalisa
un ensemble de quatorze fauteuils. Un fauteuil est
aujourd'hui conservé au Victoria&Albert Museum
de Londres (inv. RF 89/678), deux ont été vendues
Sotheby's Londres, 18 novembre 2008, lot 224, une
autre paire vente Christie's Londres, 10 septembre
2013, lot 59, une chaise vente Bonham's Londres, 9
juillet 2015, lot 215.

Lars Olsson Smith (1836-1913) for Bolinder House,
