Dague « à oreilles » de style espagnol fin XVe - début XVIe siècle, XIXe siècle. A Spanish "ear" dagger, in late 15th-early 16th century style, 19th century. With sharply tapering blade double-edged and formed with a flat ricasso, the sides of characteristic unequal length, iron hilt formed with a spoolshaped guard, the sides constructed from a pair of faceted ivory panels fitted over copper fillets, gilt diagonally fluted blade-tang fitted with a pair of iron fillets over the sides, each drawn-up to a spoon-like ear with gilt fluted inner face, the outer face filled with an ivory disc retained by a conical series of contrasting horn rings on copper fillets and all retained by a common screw, the sides of the grip fitted with a pair of dark horn scales, and in "aged" condition throughout.
