Édition princeps, exemplaire du tirage sans le nom de l'imprimeur sur la page de titre. “Editio princeps of the surviving fragments of the geographical and political treatises of Dicaearchus, who had been a pupil of Aristotle, and whose Bios Hellados (Life of Greece) was the first attempt at a universal history of culture. The Greek fragments are embedded in the extensive commentary of Estienne, who has added a 120-page treatise, in dialogue form, on the customs of the ancient Athenians, as a supplement to his commentary” (Schreiber).
