I may owe that I selfishly regret it as I had hoped she might some day belong to me. But for Lord Charles (as I can still help calling the present Duke of Grafton as he himself still signs to me) I do rejoice ; for... he had had so much sorrow with his children, that this prospect of a daughter-in-law whom I know he is very font of will be a ray of sunshine to him... ».
