This collector assembles wines just as he collects works of art, with the same sensitivity and the same high standards. A lover of beauty and fine things, he has meticulously selected each of his bottles for its history, its rarity, and, above all, its oenological merit. His cellar thus bears the mark of a personal vision, fueled by curiosity and an intimate knowledge of great wines.
A connoisseur and accomplished wine taster, he has tasted and shared the finest bottles. The pleasure of opening them, introducing others to them, and enjoying them together is central to his passion. By offering part of his collection at auction today, he is giving this sharing a new form: that of passing on a love of fine wine, inviting other connoisseurs to discover his selections and continue the pleasure.
The selection stands out for its significant collection of Jean Grivot wines, notably his Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux, complemented by Trapet’s Chambertin, Dujac’s Charmes-Chambertin, and Roulot’s Meursault “Gruyaches.” Angélus, Léoville Poyferré, and Guigal’s “La Turque” round out these prestigious selections.
A passion for discovery is also evident in the numerous vintages from Jean-François Ganevat, Emidio Pepe’s Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, and the wines from Les Horées and Domaine de Cassiopée—all choices that give this cellar its unique character.
The auction will take place in two parts, spread over two days of bidding.
