MAUGHAM Somerset (1874-1965) - Lot 191
MAUGHAM Somerset (1874-1965) Dramaturge et romancier britannique Lettre autographe signée, 1½ pages in-8; [New York, 21 septembre 1942]. Enveloppe. «Dear Julian Green, Harpers sent me your book [Memories of Happy Days, qui obtint le Prix Harper en 1942] & I want to tell you how very much I have enjoyed reading it... I spend my own childhood in Paris (until my parents died when I was ten) and my first school was a French one somewhere off the Champs Elysées. I only wish you had felt inclined to describe your French education in much greater detail. I must take this opportunity to tell you with what great interest I read your Journal when it first appeared I forgot in what review...».
