Plastron de cavalier alla tedesca, Italie peut-être Brescia vers 1470. A cavalry breast-plate "alla tedesca", Italian, possibly Brescia, circa 1470. Constructed in two parts, the upper plate globose and with outward turns at the neck and arms, the turned flanges hammered in an indented pattern, the lower plate moving on a single central sliding rivet and on a pair of internal leathers at the sides, the lower plate formed with a fluted low medial ridge, the upper edges cut with cusped ornament and small linear design, the waist flange fitted with later skirt of four lames. H. overall: 50 cm - W.: 34.5 cm - Wt.: 2810 g. A similar example is preserved in the Royal Armouries Leeds (III 1282a), struck with the mark of Zanetto Ferrari, active in Brescia circa 1470.
