Paris, Jean Libert, 1633. 2 works in 1 volume in-4 (222 x 170 mm) of 43 pp. for Sénèque; 19 pp. for Ciceron: morocco olive, dishes decorated with a Duseuil decoration, corner fleurons composed of small irons, one of which has a fan, a central medallion bearing the name of the owner? Henricus Ruze? on the first plate and ? De Cinq Mars? on the second plate, smooth spine decorated with small irons, gilded edges (period binding). Precious collection that belonged to Henri Coiffier de Ruze d'Effiat (1620-1642), marquis of Cinq-Mars, the famous protege of King Louis XIII who was decapitated after plotting against Richelieu. The volume bears on the guard the autograph note ? Defiat. De Cinq Mars Humanista, 1633?. The two books are interleaved and the leaves bear numerous notes in ink, a small sketch, man's head, is drawn on the lower back cover. Binding skillfully restored.
