Werdet, 1834- 1838. 12 volumes in-8, long-grained pomegranate morocco, smooth spines richly decorated in gold and cold, double framing of gilt filets on the boards, with, in the center, a plate of decoration with the cathedral in gold and cold, gilt threaded edges, decorated interior border, gilt edges on witnesses, covers and spines kept (Ch. de Samblanx). First attempt at a collective edition, it announces the Comédie humaine, published from 1842. It is divided into three parts of 4 volumes each: - Scènes de la vie privée (1834-1837); volume IV is addressed to Werdet and dated 1837; - Scènes de la vie de province (1834-1837); - Scènes de la vie parisienne (1834-1835). The preface signed Félix Davin was written under the dictation of the author. The armorial bookplate of the sponsor of the binding, mounted on the back covers, could not be identified. Washed copy, printed covers lined. The cover of the third volume is dated 1838, the fourth is dated 1837. The table leaf of the fifth is shorter.
