A page of history (1603). Paris, Alphonse Lemerre, 1886. In-12 of 1 frontispiece, (2) ff, II, 32 pp, the last one not numbered, (1) f., 1 figure : red morocco, spine ribbed, gilt figure in the upper left corner of the first plate, red morocco linings framed with gilt filets and scrolls, red silk endpapers, untrimmed, gilt head, covers preserved (Marius Michel). First edition: it is illustrated with two engravings outside the text after L. Ostrowski. One of the rare copies on China paper. A perfect copy bound for Jolly Bavoillot (cat. 1896, n° 102). It passed without the library of Prince Alexandre Bibesco (1842-1911), man of letters and devoted friend of Marcel Proust: he had his gilt figure stamped in the upper corner of the first plate.
