Since opening its doors in 2002, Pierre Bergé Auctions has charted a rich course in the world of jewelry. After setting a world record with the sale of a grey pearl necklace in Geneva in 2005 (sold for 1.5 million euros from the jewelry box of Baroness Marie-Hélène de Rothschild), the department repeated its feat in 2015 with the sale of another string of pearls for 1.6 million euros, this time from the collection of Baroness Alain de Rothschild.
Thanks to the dispersal of numerous aristocratic jewel cases and private collections over the years, the jewelry and goldsmiths' department has had the opportunity to honor the most prestigious jewelers and goldsmiths such as René Boivin, Suzanne Belperron, Fulco di Verdura, Janesich, Cartier, Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels, Mellerio, Lalique, Templier, Sandoz, Odiot, Biennais, etc.
We have long-standing, trust-based relationships with our customers, to whom we offer personalized service. The success of our sales lies both in the meticulous selection of items for our catalogs and in the attractive valuations we offer based on market observation. Our company is closely associated with the world of luxury and Haute Couture, giving us the greatest legitimacy in the world of jewelry.
We are looking for diamonds, colored stones, fine pearls and jewelry from all periods, from the 18th century to the present day, including Art Nouveau, Art Deco and post-war jewelry. Our appraisals are free and confidential. We travel extensively throughout France and Europe, where we organize regular appraisal days.
If required, we can also carry out more in-depth laboratory analyses to determine origins and treatments (diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and pearls), and have certificates of authenticity drawn up by accredited experts for more specialized pieces.
