Collection of 4 exhibits around the trial against Philippe Nivet's gang of criminals. Paris, Pierre Simon, 1729-1730, In-4; modern cardboard. Very interesting collection containing the judgments against Philippe Nivet, known as "Fanfaron", leader of a criminal gang active between 1723 and 1728. In August 1728, the murder of the David husbands on their return from a market in Amiens was finally solved and Nivet, imprisoned, implicated 68 members of his gang. He died on the wheel on May 29, 1729: 1). Decision of the court of the final parliament. Concerning eighty-five co-accused of Philippe Nivet's company, known as Fanfaron, seven of whom are sentenced to galleries for life & in time. 1730. 3 pp. 2). Arrest of the court of parliament against ninety-nine accused. Sentencing to be severed alive, previously apply to the ordinary & extraordinary question, against Philippe Nivet.
