The account of the voyage, published by Claret de Fleurieu, is preceded by the story of the discovery of the northwest coast of America, since the discovery of California by Cortès in 1537. It also contains important observations on navigation in the Pacifi c, valuable hydrographic charts and a wealth of information on the natural history of the countries visited. Very good copy, wide margins, untrimmed. Past backs. Clear, non-gravity mooring in the lower corner of some of the charts. Sabin, 44491; O' Reilly, Tahiti, 617.
