The first two leaves are entitled The Anatomy of Love: they offer a first draft of the beginning of the book's chapter. At the end, Bellmer noted: "This text was written in 1937, translated in collaboration with Georges Hugnet in 1938 and partially reworked by the author in January 1946. It should be considered as the basis of the Anatomy of the Physical Unconscious and will therefore be of documentary interest only." The copy was bound in the 1970s in Dijon by A. & J. Ferret.
